I have spent the past week with my Mum. She left Saturday. I want her back!
Not just because life is so much easier with her around. Not just because she makes my house look spotloss. Not just because she makes my kids laugh, runs to the shops, kills the spiders, creates a costume for dress up day, looks after me and loves all of my creations; but because I miss her. I want to lie on the lawn with the sun on our legs and play remember when. I want her input into which photo she likes, if she thinks the dress in the window is nice, and what presents I should buy for Christmas. I want everything we haven’t had for the past fourteen years. But I can’t have that. So I best be thankful for the time we share, for the amazing Mum I have been blessed with and the good times we have.
Growing up my Mum didn’t buy Nutella, but my Grandma did and she lived across the road from us. It was my childhood answer to every ‘what is your favourite food’ question. I loved it on toast, I loved it on saladas, I loved it on crumpets, and I loved it on its own. My kids have never had nutella, but they love our chocolate spread and I hope you do too.
Wholefood Simply Nutella
2 tablespoons hulled tahini
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon cacao or cocoa or carob
1/2 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Put all of the ingredients into a cup or small bowl and mix until well combined. Enjoy!!
Alternatively you could do this is your blender if you wanted to. I hope you like it.
